and District Development Struggle Front hold joint meeting

A decision was taken to stage a protest before the District Magistrate on June 15, raising demands such as renovation and reopening of Doodhpura Airport, and restarting the closed sugar mill and paper mill.

An important meeting of the Rail Development and Expansion Forum, Samastipur, was held on Monday at DRM Chowk under the अध्यक्षता (chairmanship) of convenor Shatrughan Rai Panji and conducted by Shankar Prasad Sah. Various issues related to railway development in the region were discussed in detail.
It was unanimously decided in the meeting that a one-day hunger strike will be organized on May 27 in front of the DRM office to press for these demands.
Key demands raised in the meeting included construction of an overbridge at the railway crossing near Atern Chowk, expansion of the Samastipur railway workshop to fully initiate POP coach manufacturing, and laying new railway lines between Karpoorigram–Tajpur–Patepur–Mahua–Bhagwanpur. Additionally, demands were made for new railway lines from Dalsinghsarai to Patori and from Kabel Sthan to Karpoorigram.
Other major demands included renovation of the Tuntunia railway overbridge and widening of the overbridge at Madhuri Chowk. Speakers stated that fulfilling these demands would ease transportation and accelerate economic development in the region.
It was also decided to organize a protest on June 15 before the District Magistrate under the banner of the District Development Struggle Front, demanding renovation and reopening of Doodhpura Airport and revival of closed sugar and paper mills.
On the occasion, forum members and political leaders including CPI(ML) leader Surendra Prasad Singh and RJD leader Rakesh Thakur urged the administration to take prompt action, warning that the movement would be intensified if the issues remain unresolved.
Others present included RJD leaders Shahid Hussain, Ramvinod Paswan, Sanoj Kumar Rai; Congress leaders Vishwanath Singh Hajari and Doman Rai; CPI(ML) leaders Dinbandhu Prasad and Ashok Rai, among others.
At the end of the program, members paid tribute to RJD leader Ranjeet Kumar Rambhu of Jitwarpur-Bishanpur, observing two minutes of silence on his untimely demise, describing it as an irreparable loss.
