Puri railway station is being redeveloped into a world-class facility with a budget of 177 crore rupees. Governor Haribabu Kambhampati reviewed the ongoing work and set March 2027 as the deadline. The upgraded station will feature Kalinga architectural style and increase daily passenger capacity from 16,000 to 60,000. Amenities include an executive lounge, free Wi-Fi, cafeteria, and special facilities for the disabled. Advanced ballastless tracks will be used for safety.
