A 28-year-old school teacher, Amanpreet Kaur, died and another teacher was injured when their scooter was hit by a small tempo (Chota Hathi) near Handiaya. The victims, residents of Sekha village, were on their way to Mother Teacher School when the accident occurred under the Standard Chowk overpass. The tempo driver fled the scene.
