The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has summoned the young woman and the ambulance driver involved in the controversial death of GRP constable Soumya Ranjan in Balianta. Soumya Ranjan was allegedly lynched by villagers in the presence of police following allegations of misconduct. Both individuals appeared before the NHRC to provide their statements. Two separate cases have been filed—one for murder and another for attempted rape.
