A tragic road accident occurred on the Barnala-Bathinda highway near a thread mill when a cotton-laden truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. The uncontrolled truck hit a pedestrian named Ram Singh, who was out for a walk, killing him on the spot. The truck then crashed into a tree, leaving the driver seriously injured.
