“Blessed be the Lord, for He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city!” (Psalm 31:21) This verse is a testimony of God’s faithful protection and unexpected mercy even in the midst of pressure and danger. A “strong city” can symbolize a place of confinement, opposition, or overwhelming circumstances; yet God’s kindness breaks through every wall. The life of David Wilkerson beautifully reflects this truth. When he went to New York to minister among gangs and addicts, he faced hostility and fear. Yet in that “strong city,” God revealed His marvelous kindness—transforming lives and establishing Teen Challenge.
