On 3 May 2026, NEET-UG 2026 was held across India for over 22 lakh students, but days later allegations emerged that a “guess paper” matched many actual exam questions. Investigators alleged that a multi-state paper leak racket sold leaked material for ₹10–25 lakh through solver gangs operating across several states. Raids and arrests were carried out in cities including Jaipur, Nashik and Gurugram, with Nashik emerging as a key lead in the probe and 30 year old Shubham Khairnar identified by investigators as a major accused linked to the alleged leak network. On 12 May 2026, the NTA cancelled NEET-UG 2026 and the Central Government handed the case to the CBI for a nationwide investigation, triggering protests by students demanding accountability and clarity on the re exam. #maharashtra
