Amidst global fuel crises and rising petrol prices, Electric Vehicle (EV) demand is surging in Odisha, with over 2.19 lakh registrations recorded. However, infrastructure remains a major concern as charging points are inadequate compared to the rising number of vehicles. In Bhubaneswar alone, around 13,000 EVs rely on just 16 charging points. Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena has announced plans for 100 new charging stations in the first phase and another 190 under the PM E-Drive scheme to address the shortage.
