Three differently-abled Odia youths, Shubham Somen Senapati, Krishnachandra Hembram, and Nalinikanta Maharana, have cleared the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) exam through sheer determination. Shubham, a resident of Cuttack, lost his eyesight due to a medicine reaction in childhood. Despite personal tragedies and three previous failures, he secured rank 164 in his fourth attempt using assistive technology like screen readers.
