The Geological Survey of India (GSI) is establishing a state-of-the-art Data Processing, Interpretation and Integration Centre (DPIIC) in Bengaluru at a cost of ₹100 crore. Utilizing AI and Machine Learning, the center will analyze geological data across 8.5 lakh square kilometers over the next five years to discover deep-seated mineral reserves like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. This project aims to enhance India's mineral security and support self-reliance in EV, semiconductor, and defense sectors by replacing traditional exploration methods with advanced predictive modeling.
