Anand said this follows the party founder president Vijay giving the nod to Mr Nehru's request for fighting the April 9 elections as part of the TVK alliance. Mr.Nehru had launched his regional party in October, 2025 pledging to safeguard the rights of the people and to fight for securing Statehood.Subsequentlv, the TVK, which had onlv the other dav announced candidates for al 30 Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory, reallocated Orleanpet and Thattanchavadv to the NMK.Interestingly, though Mr. Nehru, a sitting MLA of the Orleanpet constituency, was among the Independents who had lent support to the AINRC-BJP government under Chief Minister N Rangasamy, he had not shied away from attacking the NDA and stirring controversies. He once gatecrashed a State-event to protest "tardy progress" of Smart City proiects and on another occasion created a flutter bv wheeling a trader iniured in an attack bv miscreants on a stretcher to the premises of the Rai Nivas to denounce the assault and the denial of proper medical care. #தலைவர் விஜய் (TVK)
