The Odisha government has increased the daily food allowance for underweight children (6 months to 6 years) from 8 INR to 12 INR. Combined with 6 INR from the Mukhya Mantri Sampurna Pushti Yojana, they will now receive 18 INR worth of daily nutrition. This benefits 35,000 children and costs the state 10.7 crore INR annually. Additionally, breakfast costs for pre-schoolers in Anganwadis were raised to 3.56 INR. Deputy CM Pravati Parida also launched a digital book focused on the critical first 1,000 days of a child's life to guide mothers and Anganwadi workers.
