Odisha is witnessing severe heatwave conditions with Hirakud recording a peak temperature of 44 degrees Celsius by 2:30 PM. Jharsuguda followed closely as the second hottest city at 43.8 degrees, while Sambalpur also crossed the 43-degree mark. Bhubaneswar recorded 39.6 degrees Celsius. The intense heat and humidity have severely disrupted normal life across coastal and interior regions of the state.
