Punjab Police has registered an FIR against a former SHO and a Head Constable in Ludhiana after it was revealed that they listed a deceased person as an eyewitness in the NRI Rupinder Kaur murder case. The fraud came to light during a bail hearing in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where it was shown the witness had died four months before the statement was allegedly recorded. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) found that signatures on the case file were also forged.
