Farmers in Ghupsal village, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, have set a benchmark in water conservation. By shifting from water-intensive paddy to crops like maize, pulses, and oilseeds across 350 acres, they have significantly improved the local groundwater level. Previously dry ponds now remain filled even in late April. District Collector Jitendra Yadav visited the village to appreciate this collective initiative, which has solved the village's long-standing water crisis while reducing input costs and increasing farmer income. https://soormabhopali.in/news.php?id=rajnandgaon-village-ghupsal-has-become-an-example-%E2%80%93-water-efficient-crops-have-raised-the-groundwater-level-and-provided-relief-from-the-crisis-624325 #creator program
