In Koraput district, education infrastructure is in a dire state. Out of 2483 schools, 210 primary schools operate from just a single room, which serves as both a classroom and an office. Many schools lack basic amenities like electricity, drinking water, toilets, and playgrounds. For instance, Kenduput Primary School has 84 students from Balvatika to Class 5 but only one room. Teachers have built temporary kitchens using asbestos sheets. Despite being used as polling booths, these schools remain neglected, leading to concerns about high dropout rates in the district.
