A Rajasthan Roadways double-decker AC bus traveling from Jaipur to Haridwar caught fire on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway near the Meerut-Muzaffarnagar border on Friday morning. The fire, caused by a short circuit in the AC wiring, quickly engulfed the vehicle. Alerted by a biker, the driver stopped the bus, allowing all 26 passengers to escape through windows and emergency exits. While no lives were lost, passengers' belongings worth lakhs were destroyed. Four fire tenders extinguished the flames after two hours.
