#Scam_Alert Jallikattu Restaurant Owner Arrested in Cyber Slavery Case
The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing arrested a 35-year-old from Madurai for trafficking Indians to cyber scam compounds in Cambodia. The accused, Madhan Vadivel, allegedly ran the racket for 3 years and sent over 100 victims into forced online fraud operations.
Acting on a complaint from a Tirupathur victim, police traced and arrested him in Madurai. Victims were lured with high-paying job offers, charged fees, and sent abroad. On arrival, they were confined in scam compounds run by foreign nationals and forced into cyber fraud. One victim escaped, contacted the Indian Embassy, and returned safely.
Investigators found the accused had links with organised cyber crime networks across Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. He reportedly operated multiple “Jallikattu” restaurants inside these compounds, supplying food to trafficked victims while earning commissions per person.
Police seized devices and documents for forensic analysis and are tracing more victims and financial links. Authorities suspect hundreds may have been trafficked.
Officials urge job seekers to verify overseas offers through authorised agencies and government channels. Avoid offers promising high salaries, free travel, or easy jobs. Always check visas, contracts, and employer credentials, and share travel details with family.
Report such crimes via the National Cyber Crime Portal or helpline. Investigation continues.
