BJD Rajya Sabha MP Debashish Samantaray has resigned from the primary membership of the party. He sent his resignation to party president Naveen Patnaik, alleging intentional neglect within the party. Samantaray, who previously served as an MLA for Barabati-Cuttack in 2009 and 2014, was sent to the Rajya Sabha by BJD in 2024. He expressed gratitude to Patnaik for the opportunities given but stated he felt his services were no longer needed.
