The Private Unaided Schools Association of Punjab (PUSA) clarified its stance on fee hikes during a state-level meeting in Bathinda. The association stated that fee increases are driven by rising management costs, including teacher salaries, electricity rates, and safety certifications, rather than arbitrary decisions. This comes after CM Bhagwant Mann took a tough stand on school fees following a student's suicide in Amritsar. The association has requested the government for financial relief and the implementation of DBT or voucher systems. Meanwhile, the Democratic Teachers Front raised concerns over privatization and called for strengthening the government education system. https://www.punjabitribuneonline.com/news/punjab/punjab-private-schools-defend-fee-hikes-citing-rising-costs-private-schools-association-defends-fee-hikes-citing-rising-costs/ #Creator program
