A massive raid by the Jajpur District Level Task Force (DLTF) has led to the seizure of approximately 500 metric tons of illegal chromite worth over ₹1 crore in the Sukinda mining circle. The 30-hour long operation targeted an illegal depot located in the Kendudhipa forest land. Officials seized a JCB, cooking equipment, and transported the minerals using 24 high-capacity trucks. This is reported to be the largest chromite seizure in the district in 58 years.
