A woman named Anuradha Paswan, originally from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in a shocking matrimonial fraud case that earned her the nickname
"Looteri Dulhan."
According to police investigations, she allegedly married around 25 men in just 7 months across different cities and states.
Her method was simple.
She would pose as the perfect bride, gain the trust of the groom and his family, and within a few days of the marriage she would run away with cash and jewellery.
Each time she used a new name, a new city and a new identity, making it difficult for victims to track her.
One of the complaints came from Sawai Madhopur district in Rajasthan, where a man reported that she disappeared about two weeks after marriage with valuables.
After multiple complaints, Rajasthan Police set up a trap using a fake groom.
When she arrived for another marriage arrangement, she was arrested in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh around May 2025.
The case quickly went viral on social media, and she became widely known as India's "Looteri Dulhan."
