A woman named Anuradha Paswan, originally from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested in a shocking matrimonial fraud case that earned her the nickname "Looteri Dulhan." According to police investigations, she allegedly married around 25 men in just 7 months across different cities and states. Her method was simple. She would pose as the perfect bride, gain the trust of the groom and his family, and within a few days of the marriage she would run away with cash and jewellery. Each time she used a new name, a new city and a new identity, making it difficult for victims to track her. One of the complaints came from Sawai Madhopur district in Rajasthan, where a man reported that she disappeared about two weeks after marriage with valuables. After multiple complaints, Rajasthan Police set up a trap using a fake groom. When she arrived for another marriage arrangement, she was arrested in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh around May 2025.
