IMD Director General Dr. Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has informed that the monsoon is likely to reach Odisha around the Raja festival, within a week of hitting Kerala. While El Niño is expected to strengthen towards the end of September, the June-September period may see around 90% of normal rainfall. South and Central Odisha are expected to receive normal or above-normal rain, while North Odisha may experience below-normal rainfall.
