Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that a multi-purpose sports complex will be built in Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar, with an investment of ₹1,000 crore. Speaking at the 'Chintan Shivir' organized by the Sports and Youth Services Department, he shared that Odisha will host the World Athletics and Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in 2028. Additionally, over ₹4,000 crore is being invested to build modern stadiums at the block level to strengthen grassroots sports infrastructure.
