Odisha Vigilance arrested Priyanka Jena, an MGNREGA assistant at the PD Watershed office in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi district, while accepting a bribe of ₹35,000. She had demanded the money from a beneficiary to clear a pending bill of ₹2.68 lakh for a farm pond project. Following a complaint, a trap was set near Irrigation Chowk where she was caught red-handed. Simultaneously, searches are being conducted at two locations associated with her on suspicion of possessing disproportionate assets.
