The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is facing allegations of corruption and mismanagement regarding the installation of paver blocks across the city. Millions of rupees are being wasted as newly installed paver blocks are frequently removed for different beautification projects within a few years. For instance, a 6-lakh project at CRP Square was replaced by a 38-lakh parking project, and a 50-lakh project at Acharya Vihar was partially dismantled for statues. Furthermore, 53 crore spent on conservancy lanes has failed to yield results, as these areas have become dens for anti-social elements.
