The Democratic Teachers' Front (DTF) Punjab has condemned the arrest of unemployed teachers in Sangrur. They are demanding the unconditional release of 12 activists, including 5 women, belonging to the 5994 Backlog Unemployed Teachers Union. The union has been protesting for 4 years to complete the recruitment process. Recent arrests occurred during the Education Minister's visit to Sangrur and at a protest site in Dhuri where a candidate has climbed a mobile tower. DTF urged the government to stop suppressing democratic rights and fulfill recruitment promises.
