State Bank of India (SBI) branches across the country are expected to remain closed for 6 consecutive days due to a nationwide strike called by the All India State Bank of India Staff Federation (AISBISF) and scheduled holidays. The strike is set for May 25 and 26 over 16 demands including pension issues and new recruitments. This follows the 4th Saturday and Sunday holidays. Additionally, RBI has declared holidays on May 27 and 28 in various states for Bakrid. Over 50 crore customers and 23,270 branches might be impacted by this closure.
