Following allegations of bribery and irregularities in the building approval department of the Chennai Corporation, 12 officials including executive engineers have been transferred. The action was ordered by Additional Chief Secretary Gagandeep Singh Bedi. Some officials had reportedly stayed in the same position for over 10 years.
