In SAS Nagar district, 695 candidates remain in the fray for local body elections scheduled for May 26 after 364 nominations were withdrawn. District Election Officer Komal Mittal informed that two candidates, one each from Derabassi and Lalru Municipal Councils, have been elected unopposed. Mohali Municipal Corporation has 227 candidates for 50 wards, while Zirakpur has 124 candidates for 31 wards.
