Eye camp held in Srinagar, hundreds of artisans underwent eye checkups A special free eye checkup camp was organized in Srinagar to improve the health of artisans who keep Kashmir's rich handicraft tradition alive. Organized by the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology, this camp provided free eye checkups, diabetes testing, medicines, and eyewear to artisans and their families. Artisans involved in intricate handicrafts such as carpet weaving, papier-mâché, wood carving, embroidery, and shawl making often face vision problems. Hundreds of artisans participated in the camp and received health guidance from expert doctors. The artisans welcomed the initiative and requested that such camps be held regularly in the future. श्रीनगर में लगा आई कैंप, सैकड़ों शिल्पकारों ने कराई आंखों की जांच कश्मीर की समृद्ध हस्तशिल्प परंपरा को जीवित रखने वाले कारीगरों के बेहतर स्वास्थ्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए श्रीनगर में एक विशेष निःशुल्क नेत्र जांच शिविर आयोजित किया गया। इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ कार्पेट टेक्नोलॉजी की पहल पर लगे इस शिविर में कारीगरों और उनके परिवारों को आंखों की जांच, मधुमेह परीक्षण, दवाइयां तथा चश्मे मुफ्त उपलब्ध कराए गए। कालीन बुनाई, पेपर माशे, लकड़ी नक्काशी, कढ़ाई और शॉल निर्माण जैसे बारीक हस्तशिल्प कार्यों से जुड़े कारीगर अक्सर दृष्टि संबंधी समस्याओं का सामना करते हैं। इसी को देखते हुए आयोजित शिविर में सैकड़ों शिल्पकारों ने भाग लेकर विशेषज्ञ चिकित्सकों से स्वास्थ्य मार्गदर्शन प्राप्त किया। कारीगरों ने इस पहल का स्वागत करते हुए भविष्य में भी नियमित रूप से ऐसे शिविर आयोजित करने की मांग की, ताकि उन्हें समय पर स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं मिलती रहें और उनका हुनर नई ऊंचाइयों तक पहुंच सके। #06 June के अपडेट

Created ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, the massive 3D wall mural represents a remarkable blend of Dogra culture, history, and modern development. The artwork showcases the legacy of Maharaja Gulab Singh, traditional folk culture, and symbolic scenes of peace and prosperity. The lion and goat drinking from the same pond convey a message of harmony, while the modern railway bridge and highway narrate the development story of a new Jammu and Kashmir. This mural, created by artists from Haryana, will introduce not only Amarnath pilgrims but also tourists from India and abroad to the Dogra heritage. Natural Farming Becomes a New Symbol of Prosperity for Farmers in Udhampur Natural farming is transforming the lives of farmers in Udhampur district of Jammu & Kashmir. Under the Government of India's National Mission on Natural Farming, more than 36 panchayats have shifted from chemical-based farming to organic cultivation. This transformation began in Thalora village, which has now become a model for the entire region. Young farmer Vinod Sharma from Majalta has written a remarkable success story through natural farming. He is earning a good income by cultivating crops such as bottle gourd, bitter gourd, cucumber, pumpkin, and strawberries. According to him, the taste and quality of organic vegetables are far superior to chemically grown produce. This initiative is not only increasing farmers' incomes but is also improving soil health and providing consumers with pure, chemical-free food.
