అయ్యప్పస్వామి జయంతి : శబరిమలలో కొలువై ఉన్న అయ్యప్పస్వామి జన్మించినది సైతం పన్గుణి ఉతిరం రోజునే. అయ్యప్ప అంటే అందరికీ మకరజ్యోతి దర్శనమే గుర్తుకువస్తుంది కానీ.. పనుణి ఉత్తరం సందర్భంగా మణికంఠుని క్షేత్రంలో పదిరోజులపాటు బ్రహ్మోత్సవాలు జరుగుతాయి. ఈ ఒక్కరోజునే స్వామివారి ఉత్సవమూర్తిని పంబా నదికి తీసుకువస్తారు. పుణ్యస్నానాన్ని చేయిస్తారు. ఈ ఒక్కరోజునే మహిళలు సైతం కొండదిగివచ్చిన అయ్యప్పను దర్శించుకోవచ్చు. పన్గుణి ఉతిరంకు పదిరోజుల ముందుగా సన్నిధానంలో ధ్వజారోహణం జరుగుతుంది. తొమ్మిదోరోజున శరంకుత్తి వద్ద పార్వేట ఉత్సవాన్ని నిర్వహిస్తారు. పదోరోజైన పనుణి ఉరంనాడు అయ్యప్ప ఉత్సవమూర్తిని ఏనుగు అంబారిపై ఊరేగింపుగా కొండ కిందికి తీసుకువస్తారు. పంబా నదిలో తీసుకెళ్లి పసుపుతో అభిషేకించి సుముహూర్తంలో మూడు మునకలు వేయిస్తారు. దీన్నే పంబా ఆరట్టు అంటారు. ఈ పదిరోజులపాటూ అయ్యప్ప సన్నిధానం తెరిచే ఉంటుంది #స్వామీ శరణం .
