Tamil Nadu is building India’s largest seawater desalination plant in Perur, located just south of Chennai ,with a budget of ₹4,276 crore. Once finished, it will be the largest facility of its kind in India and one of the biggest in Southeast Asia. The plant is designed to turn salty ocean water into fresh drinking water to help the city manage its growing water needs and reduce its dependence on monsoon rains. The project is expected to produce about 400 million liters of clean water every single day. It uses a high-tech process called reverse osmosis to filter out salt and other minerals, making the water safe for households to use. #tamilnadu #chennai #TSD
