🇮🇷 Iran have announced their withdrawal from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States. ❌
Iran’s Minister of Sports Ahmad Donyamali confirmed on 11 March 2026 that the national team will not participate in the tournament due to escalating geopolitical tensions, including recent US and Israeli airstrikes and the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The situation has made it impossible for Iran to travel to the United States, where they were scheduled to face 🇳🇿 New Zealand, 🇧🇪 Belgium, and 🇪🇬 Egypt in the group stage in June–July 2026.
