What we see on camera and what actually happens are two very different things. The camera angle and telephoto lenses compress perspective, making the aircraft look almost vertical even though it isn’t. Interesting fact: Even during steep demonstration climbs, passenger aircraft rarely exceed 15–18° of pitch.
