Goravanahalli Sri Mahalakshmi Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in Goravanahalli village, Koratagere Taluk, Tumakuru district, Karnataka. It is dedicated to Goddess Mahalakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and well-being. The temple attracts thousands of devotees from Karnataka and neighboring states every week. According to local tradition, a poor devotee named Abbayya worshipped a self-manifested (Swayambhu) idol of Goddess Mahalakshmi at his home. By the Goddess's blessings, he prospered and became known for his charitable works. After his death, his brother Thotadappa was instructed by the Goddess in a dream to build a temple. The shrine later became a major pilgrimage center. In the 20th century, the temple was revived by the devoted worshipper Kamalamma, whose service helped make the temple widely known.
