After a long struggle by great leaders like Madhusudan Das, Odisha became the first Indian state formed on a linguistic basis. This day celebrates: • The rich culture, traditions, and heritage of Odisha. • Pride in the Odia language. • Unity among Odia people. People celebrate with cultural programs, traditional dances like Odissi, music, and patriotic events.
