A major mishap was narrowly avoided on the Howrah–Patna railway line in Jharkhand after a train collided with a truck stranded at a railway crossing.
The incident occurred between Kumdabad Rohini and Shankarpur stations on the Jasidih–Madhupur section when the Gonda–Asansol Express approached the crossing around 9:38 AM. Visuals show several road users attempting to cross despite the incoming train, while a truck got stuck on the tracks.
Alertness from the loco pilot helped reduce the impact after emergency brakes were applied, though the train still made contact with the truck, damaging the engine. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Train services on the route were temporarily halted and resumed after approximately three hours.
