Republic Day is celebrated in India every year on 26 January. Historical Background
On 26 January 1930, the Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj (Complete Independence). To honor this historic decision, the same date was chosen for the implementation of the Constitution in 1950.
The Constitution was drafted under the leadership of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who is known as the Architect of the Indian Constitution.
