The American Mirage: Liberty for Sale, Trump for President
The notion of "American Exceptionalism" has long been the primary export of the United States — a glossy brochure promising liberty, democracy, and a rules-based global order. But today, that brochure is being shredded. The world is increasingly forced to ask: Does America stand for its founding principles, or has it become a mere vessel for the ambitions of Donald Trump and the narrow interests of the Israeli lobby?
For decades, the U.S. has operated under a veil of moral superiority while systematically dismantling the very freedoms it claims to protect. True freedom includes the right to economic self-determination, yet Washington weaponizes the global financial system through aggressive sanctions. These are not mere diplomatic tools; they are acts of economic warfare designed to stifle trade and deny prosperity to "disobedient" nations.
The "rules-based order" is equally illusory. Under the current trajectory, "rules" are things America applies to others while exempting itself and its chosen allies. The glaring double standard regarding the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) — where Iran is strangled by oversight while Israel’s nuclear opacity is met with a wink and a nod — is the ultimate proof of a discriminatory global hierarchy.
Historically, the U.S. has not been the guardian of democracy but its executioner. From the orchestrated coup in Iran in 1953 to more recent meddling in nations like Bangladesh, the American playbook is consistent: if a democracy doesn’t serve Washington’s immediate interests, it is destabilized. Leaders are ousted, revolutions are incited, and chaos is branded as "liberation."
Today, this pattern has culminated in a political landscape where "America First" has morphed into "Trump First," and "Trump First" is inextricably tied to an unconditional subservience to Israel. This brand of selfishness abandons the universal for the tribal. It sacrifices global stability on the altar of personal power and narrow geopolitical alliances.
America is at a crossroads. It cannot continue to lecture the world on human rights while underwriting their violation. It cannot champion "free trade" while blockading its rivals. If the United States continues to stand for the ego of one man and the interests of a single ally over the principles of universal justice, it will find itself standing alone. It is time for America to decide: does it stand for its soul, or does it stand for Trump?
