On 14 May 2026, a foreign traveler "Aaron Hutchings" reportedly paid the outstanding debt of a bonded labour family at a brick kiln in Pakistan, after meeting the family during his visit. As per reports, the debt allegedly began with a loan taken by the family’s great great grandparent and continued across four generations in Punjab, and continued after partition in Pakistan.
