Natural Farming
Becomes a New Symbol of Prosperity for Farmers in Udhampur
Natural farming
is transforming the lives of farmers in Udhampur district of Jammu &
Kashmir. Under the Government of India's National Mission on Natural Farming,
more than 36 panchayats have shifted from chemical-based farming to organic
cultivation. This transformation began in Thalora village, which has now become
a model for the entire region. Young farmer Vinod Sharma from Majalta has
written a remarkable success story through natural farming. He is earning a
good income by cultivating crops such as bottle gourd, bitter gourd, cucumber,
pumpkin, and strawberries. According to him, the taste and quality of organic
vegetables are far superior to chemically grown produce. This initiative is not
only increasing farmers' incomes but is also improving soil health and
providing consumers with pure, chemical-free food. Udhampur’s green revolution
is emerging as a strong example of an Atmanirbhar Bharat . #05 June के अपडेट
