On 25 May 2026, Chandigarh Police arrested liquor vendor Rajesh Sachdeva after a video showed him serving vodka to people on ice golas or “snow balls” outside a liquor shop in Sector 9 market in Chandigarh. According to police and media reports, this was a promotional event involved mixing flavoured vodka into baraf ka gola/chuski style ice treats and distributing them openly to the public in market to market a new liquor brand. An FIR was registered at Sector 3 Police Station, Chandigarh, under excise and public serving related violations after the clip spread widely on social media. #chandigarh
