On 30th June 2026: In Nakti (Sammanpur) village near Mana–Raipur, Chhattisgarh, district authorities carried out a large anti-encroachment demolition drive to vacate government land that officials said had been earmarked for a proposed MLA residential colony and other state development projects. Revenue, municipal and police teams demolished about 77–80 houses after authorities stated that notices had been issued earlier, while residents strongly opposed the action, claiming many families had been living there for decades and possessed documents supporting their right to stay on the land. Residents also alleged that some demolished homes had been constructed under government schemes including the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and questioned how such houses could later be treated as encroachments. #chhattisgarh
