On 31 May 2026, a massive traffic jam was reported on the Badrinath National Highway (NH-7) near Joshimath in Chamoli district, Uttarakhand, during the ongoing Char Dham pilgrimage season. Multiple reports estimated the traffic jam stretched for around 25–30 kilometres, mainly around the Joshimath Vishnuprayag stretch.
