A toxic ammonia gas leak at a shrimp factory in Tamil Nadu has claimed the lives of 13 young women from the Juang tribe of Odisha. Seven others remain in critical condition. Around 58 workers returned to Odisha and shared harrowing accounts of exploitation, including long working hours, lack of basic amenities, and half-pay. The workers from Keonjhar and Angul districts were allegedly lured by brokers.
