A special POCSO court in Keonjhar, Odisha, has sentenced Ajay Kumar Nayak to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in July 2022. Judge Monalisa Mohanty also imposed a fine of 2,000 rupees and recommended 10 lakh rupees in compensation for the victim.
