Amritsar Rural Police arrested four individuals, including the brother, sister-in-law, and nephew of NRI Sunil Kumar, for his murder. Sunil, who had returned from Australia to sell his property, was drugged and killed with a baseball bat over a property dispute. His body was disposed of in the Harike River and remains missing.
