On 9th May 2026, At Panjab University, students allegedly black painted newly installed signboards that displayed Hindi, English and Braille but did not include Punjabi. The protest was led by student group “Sath”, which accused the university of sidelining Punjabi language on campus boards during an accessibility revamp project. #chandigarh The protest also drew criticism from differently abled students because some Braille portions were reportedly defaced as well.
