Starting July 1, 2026, Odisha will implement new School Management Committee (SMC) guidelines across all government and aided schools. Replacing the dual SMC and SMDC structure, a single unified committee will now oversee school operations. Depending on student strength, committees will consist of 15 to 25 members, with 75% being parents and at least 50% women. Two sub-committees, the School Building Committee and School Academic Committee, will support infrastructure and educational quality.
